Démarche artistique

Je peins en laissant la matière révéler ce qu'elle choisit de devenir.

Ma pratique s'articule autour du dialogue entre la peinture à l'huile et la cire froide. Ce médium, par sa richesse matérielle et sa capacité à conserver la mémoire du geste, nourrit une démarche où la transformation est au cœur du processus créatif.

Je n'aborde jamais une toile avec une image préétablie. L'œuvre se révèle lentement, au rythme des superpositions, des effacements et des reprises. Chaque tableau conserve les cicatrices de sa propre construction. Loin d'être dissimulées, elles témoignent du temps, des hésitations et des métamorphoses qui ont façonné l'œuvre.

Sans être autobiographique, mon travail laisse affleurer une sensibilité qui s'exprime par la couleur, la lumière et la matière. J'aime concevoir mes tableaux comme des espaces ouverts où le regard peut circuler librement, suivre les traces du processus et construire sa propre expérience.

Longtemps ancrée dans l'abstraction, ma pratique s'est progressivement ouverte à la figure humaine. Apparue d'abord de façon fugitive dans la série Métamorphose, elle occupe aujourd'hui une place centrale dans Les Imparfaites. Cette évolution ne marque pas une rupture, mais prolonge ma recherche sur la transformation, la mémoire et la fragilité, où la matière demeure le premier lieu de dialogue.

Artist statement

I paint by allowing the material to reveal what it chooses to become.

My practice is rooted in the dialogue between oil paint and cold wax. The physical qualities of this medium—its capacity for layering, erasure, and transparency—support a process in which transformation lies at the heart of the work.

I never begin a painting with a predetermined image. Instead, I follow what gradually emerges through successive layers, revisions, and moments of discovery. Each painting retains the scars of its own making. Rather than concealing them, I allow these traces to remain visible, bearing witness to the passage of time, uncertainty, and the transformations that have shaped the work.

Although my paintings are not autobiographical, they inevitably reflect my sensibility through colour, light, and material. I see each work as an open space where viewers are invited to slow down, navigate the surface, and bring their own experiences and interpretations to the encounter.

For many years, my practice was rooted in abstraction. More recently, the return of drawing has led to the gradual emergence of the human figure. First appearing fleetingly in the series Metamorphosis, it now occupies a central place in The Imperfect Ones. This evolution is not a departure from my earlier work, but an extension of my ongoing exploration of transformation, memory, vulnerability, and the expressive potential of material.
